Funeral services for George “Sonnyboy” Green, 78, of Dubach will be 3:00 PM, Monday, July 17, 2023, at Hico Baptist Church.  Rev. Connor Evans will officiate the service.  Interment will follow in Harmony Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA.

A Visitation will be Sunday, July 16, 2023, from 5:00 -7:00 PM at Hico Baptist Church in Hico, LA.

George was born June 14, 1945, in Monroe, Louisiana and passed away suddenly on July 13, 2023, in Ruston, LA.  He served as an artillery man in the Army; was a member of Hico Baptist Church; and worked for Pabco for thirteen years.

Sonnyboy was an avid trapper, hunter, and fisherman who also enjoyed gardening.  He never met a stranger and you never left the house empty handed.  He was a “jack of all trades” who was called on by many senior citizens in and around the community.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Colvin Green, Sr and Georgia Liggin Forsythe Green; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Popwell; brother, Rickey Calvin Green; sisters, Hilda Johnson, Janie Johnson, and Effie Albritton.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years Sabrina Deason-Green of Dubach, LA; daughter, Wendy Hinton and husband Matt of Downsville, LA; son, William Dale Green of Dubach, LA; grandchildren, Christopher Popwell, Nick Avant, J. P. Hinton, Anne Hinton, Jewel Hinton; great grandchild, Andrew Avant; siblings, Susie Lee Hancock of West Monroe, Lida Kay Henry of Dubach, Clyde Colvin Green, Jr  of Dubach, Vera Ann Streeter of Ruston; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Adam Green, Charles Johnson, Jr., John Ed Johnson, Jr., Wayne Parks, Jay Martin, Greg Henry, and William Dale Green.  Honorary pallbearers will be James Myers, Alan Herren, James Roberson, and Don Robbins.
