Funeral services for George C. ¨Jack Fluck, Jr. will be 10:00 AM Friday June 24, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Monroe with the Dr. Larry Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Thursday June 23, 2011 at Kilpatrick's Funeral Home, 1200 Lamy Lane in Monroe, from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM. Jack Fluck was born in Monroe, La., on September 22, 1925 and passed away on June 21, 2011 after a lengthy illness. A 1942 graduate of St. Matthews High School, he served in the United States Army from 1943-1946. Mr. Fluck served in the Pacific Theater in World War II, specifically in New Guinea, the Netherlands East Indies, and the Phillipine Islands. After his honorable discharge, he attended LSU and La. Tech, graduating from La. Tech in 1950 with a Degree in Business Administration. After graduation, he worked as a CPA and Notary Public and owned the Saddle and Spur Restaurant in Monroe for several years. In the mid-1950≠s he opened Jack Fluck Realty and operated this full service real estate office for over 55 years. Mr. Fluck was voted Realtor of the Year in 1974 and served in various positions with the Northeast Louisiana Board of Realtors, including President, Vice-President, and Treasurer. He served as the Louisiana Realtors Association Regional Vice-President for two years. In 1984, he was appointed to the Louisiana Real Estate Commission by Governor Edwin Edwards, and later re-appointed in 1992, serving as Chairman, Vice-Chairman, and Treasurer. At the time of his death, Mr. Fluck was the oldest and longest active member of the NE La. Board of Realtors. He trained, advised, and mentored generations of real estate agents in northeast Louisiana. In addition to his extensive body of work, he was also active in a wide variety of civic and social organizations in the Monroe area. Mr. Fluck was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his father, George C. Fluck, Sr., his mother, Dorothy Fuller, and his beloved granddaughter, Katie Fluke. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Margaret Thomason Fluck and his children: son Mark Johnston and wife Cyndi, son Drew Fluke and wife Cathy, daughter Jackie Fluck Jones and husband Justin, and son Brad Thomason and wife Donna. He is also survived by his sister, Kitty Dammon of Alexandria, as well as grandchildren – Brianne Adams and husband Tommy, Melissa Stamper and husband Lenny, Yancey Allen, Sharlotte Allen, Shanda Bunch and husband Jason, Victoria Thomason, David Fluke, Ali Thomason, and Charlie Thomason. Also he is survived by eleven great-grandchildren: Hunter, Kelsey, Paige, and Piper Adams, Delayne Stamper, Dalton and Justin Johnston, Payten Allen, Heather and Andrew Bedgood, and Jacob Bunch. Mr. Fluck also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, sister and brothers in law, and multitudes of other relatives, colleagues, and friends. Serving as Pallbearers will be David Fluke, Charlie Thomason, Yancey Allen, Lenny Stamper, Tommy Adams, and Kevin Thomason. Honorary Pallbearers are Kent Anderson, Sylvester Breard, E.D. Carter, Dr. Sol Courtman, Bob Ellington, Dr. David Burkett, Willie Brannon, John May, Phillip Danna, Gerald Arrant, Del Vines, Hal Hinchliffe, and Johnny Wade. The family would also like to express their deepest appreciation to Dr. David Burkett and Dr. Scott Burkett and their respective staffs. Their concern, dedication, and long-standing support have meant so much during his illness. Memorials may be made to the ´Katie Fluke Youth Activity Fund≠ at First United Methodist Church in Monroe or St. Jude≠s Children≠s Research Hospital.
