My deepest condolences to all of Fred's family. Fred was a very respected and dear classmate of mine in Ouachita Parish High School in Monroe and at L.S.U. I was so very sorry to see that he has left us here but I am sure he will brighten the lovely world that he has entered. He will certainly be missed by all who knew him. In our high school class, and even at L.S.U., there are very few of us left. Nevertheless, we few will certainly mourn his passing.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

Fred will be truly missed. He was a great inspiration to so many people. He had a wide range of knowledge in so many areas. He had a great passion for music. It was fun watching him sit down with a group of young people and totally transforming them. The Lord has said, "Well done, good and faithful servant, thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things. enter into the joy of thy lord. -Matthew 25;13. Fred was always a good friend . He and I both had agriculture degrees from LSU and we were both elected student presidents of the College of Agriculture when we were there, although many years apart. My favorite story he told me of his College days was about when he was running for Ag College president, he campaigned using a cow that he would walk around campus with. He put a sign on the cow that said, " THIS IS NO BULL ... ELECT FRED HUENEFELD PRESIDENT" I can just see FRED walking into the Quad leading a big heifer cow. That was Fred. A good friend who will be dearly missed.

Uncle Fred was such a special man in my life. I spent so much time with Fred and Betty Jean. I flew many miles with Fred (ultimately inspiring me to become a pilot). They took me on vacations, scolded me when I needed it, celebrated birthdays and special days with me. I will always feel honored to be named Sylvia Jean after his daughter (my cousin) who left us too soon. His voice and inspiration is forever with me.
Jack and Margaret Wright left a message on September 17, 2023:
Fred is remembered by us as a man who loved God, country and his fellow man. A great patriot, he was the founder and emcee of the Triangle Park 4th of July parade in the early 1980's. He and Jack loved to discuss politics and were great friends for many years. Fred was a brilliant man but also a lover of people, a kind and generous man, a truly great man who will be greatly missed.

Thoughts and prayers for one of my favorite humans. Fred always greeted me with a kiss on the cheek and I never let him get away without a hug. His passion to rouse a good debate was always entertaining and many times insightful. He was a community treasure with a relentless heart. Heaven will have its hands full! Love you Fred forever and always. Until we meet again friend. Daphne Terral Young
