Mr. Herring was born on October 27, 1946 and passed away on October 1, 2020 at the age of 73 at his home in Sarepta, LA.

He was a member of old Union Baptist Church in Shongaloo, LA. He enjoyed dancing, deer hunting, fishing, throwing trotlines, farming and gambling.

Frank is survived by his wife Betty of 21 years, his only child Paula Knight (Boyd) of Truxno, LA; 3 grandchildren: #1 grandson Bryan Herring (Connie) of Spearsville, LA;  (Cracker Head) Keith Tyler Herring friend  (Stephanie) of Ruston, LA; and Amber Knight; 2 great-grandchildren: Hunter and Henley Herring; 1 step-daughter, Patricia Nickerson (Jimmie) of Sarepta, LA, and 1 step-son, Wayne Darden of Sarepta, LA; 3 step-grandchilren, Jimmie Ann Wesson of Springhill, LA; Kristopher Darden (Jessica) of Florida, and Christen Barnett (Josh) of Washington State. 4 step great–grandchildren: Lissa, Dixie, Harper and Emery; 2 sisters, Patsy  Slack (Robert) of Dubach, LA; and Joyce Herring of Arcadia, LA; numerous nieces and nephews, family, friends, and his VFW family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Sidner Herring; brother, Bobby Ray Herring; sisters, Betty Jo Doss, Ruby Heard, and Sue Chandler; nephew, Henry Ray Herring; and step granddaughter, Kristy Jo Nickerson.

The funeral will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at 2 P.M. at the Pine Grove Baptist Church in Bernice, LA under direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville, LA with Brother AW Smart and Steve Barrett officiating. Viewing will be from 12:30 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the church. Interment will follow in Pine Grave Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Herring, Keith Tyler Herring, Richard Heard, Robert Heard, Jesse Johnson, and Charles Edgell.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmie Nickerson, Boyd Knight, and Otis Lowery.

He also leaves behind Special friends Joanne Johnston and Elaine Kelley. His 3 goat kids: Cheyenne, Cocoa, and Jimmie Ann.
