Funeral services for Mrs. Florence O. Compton, 89, of West Monroe, are Tuesday, January 4th, 2011, at 2:00PM in Feazel Chapel of First Baptist Church of West Monroe with Rev. Mark Fenn officiating. Interment follows at Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe. Mrs. Compton was born July 27th, 1921, in Farmerville, a daughter of the late Mitchell and Effie Mae Futch Odom. A graduate of Farmerville High School, she was a homemaker and secretary and bookkeeper for Compton's TV. A devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and sister, Mrs. Compton was a member of the First Baptist Church of West Monroe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mose Compton, in October, 1998; a son, Jerry Ray Compton in July, 1963; 2 sisters, Margaret Harrell and Lou Burch; and 3 brothers, Hugh, Alton, and Delos Odom. Survivors include her children, Betty Aston and husband Jerry, and Danny Compton and wife, Rhonda; grandsons, Robby Compton and wife, Leslie, and Brent Compton; step-granddaughters, Aubrey Savelle and Khristy O'Neal and husband Michael; great grandchildren, Makenzie and Katie Compton, and Alanie Aston; a brother, Raymond Odom and wife, Mary Ann, a number of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Lou Alexander, Diane Pennington, and many others. Pallbearers are Gary Compton, Kenny Compton, Sr., Kenny Compton, Jr., David Reeves, Don Antley, and Johnny Price. Visitation is Monday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.
