Florence Brashear Donald Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston, LA Funeral services for Florence Brashear Donald, age 91, of Choudrant, LA will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday April, 5, 2011 at the Alabama Presbyterian Church. Officiating the service will be Rev. Bill Willis and Dr. Marshall Boyd. Interment will follow at Sibley Cemetery in Choudrant, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Florence was born in Mineral, Texas to Henry Richard Brashear and Leona Harris Brashear. She graduated from A.C. Jones high School in Beeville, Texas where she was a member of the debate and tennis team. After graduating she married Henry Maurice Donald in Goliad, Texas and then moved to Louisiana to help her husband run the family farm. Along with her husband, Florence was an active member of the Alabama Presbyterian Church, serving in many capacities within the church. In addition to running the farm, Florence and Maurice opened the Monroe Hearing Aid Center. They operated this business until his death. Later Florence owned and operated a Merle Norman Cosmetics studio and gift shop in West Monroe and Monroe for many years. Florence was an elegant lady who always demonstrated poise and grace in everything she did. She was a devoted wife and mother who cared more about others than herself. She is survived by one son Dr. Henry Steven Donald and wife Brenda, one daughter, Marcia Donald Snodgrass and husband Patrick, grandchildren, Kathy Donald Hinton, Dr. Lance Donald and wife Marcia, Dr. D.J. Donald, Steven Donald and Sara Snodgrass; great grandchildren include Hunter Hinton, Daniel Hinton, Katelyn Donald and Conner Donald. Pallbearers will be Terry Williams, Jimmy Williams, Willy Earl Pesnell, Patrick Snodgrass, Dr. Steven Donald, Dr. Lance Donald, Dr. D.J. Donald, and Steven Donald. Honorary pallbearers will be J.N. Walpole, John O'Neal and Dan O'Neal. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to service time 4:00 PM on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the Alabama Presbyterian Church.
