Memorial services for Mrs. Evelyn Ledbetter Stewart, 88, will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at First Presbyterian Church of Monroe. Officiating will be Rev. Allison Moody. Private family graveside was held earlier at Monroe Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Honorary pallbearers were the ladies of Circle Group #3. Mrs. Stewart worked in the insurance business until her retirement for George Guerriero, Dean Carter and Troy & Nichols. Mrs. Stewart was born on April 5, 1918 and passed away on August 5, 2006 in Monroe, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Lloyd Stewart. Survivors include her daughter, Susan S. Wheeler and husband Joe of Weaverville, NC; son, Scott Stewart and wife Linda of Monroe; sister, Helen Putnam of West Monroe; grandsons, Echard Wheeler and wife Leesa of Virginia Beach, VA and Scott Wheeler of Richmond, VA; granddaughters, Mary Helen Adamson and husband Rane of Hot Springs, NC and Erin Johnston and husband Jason of Little Rock, AR; great granddaughter, Sophie Wheeler of Virginia Beach, VA. Mrs. Stewart was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a member of the Presbyterian Women. Other organizations were the Y.W.C.A., the St. Francis Auxiliary and Circle Group #3.
