Funeral services for Evelyn Herring Adams, 83, of Downsville, LA will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 15, 2010 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM in Alexandria Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe, LA. Mrs. Adams was born on January 4, 1927 in Harmon, LA and passed away on October 12, 2010 in Monroe, LA. Mrs. Adams was a retired Registered Nurse. She was member of Lakeview Baptist Church in New Orleans, LA. Prior to Katrina, she was a resident of New Orleans for forty years. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty six years, Emmitt Ray Adams. She is survived by her sons: Layne Mark Adams and wife, Joan and Paul Ray Adams; brother: A. S. ¨Bo Herring and wife, Billye Faye Herring; sister-in-laws: Helen Adams and Billie Adams; grandsons: Walter L. Windham II and Forrest Layne Adams; granddaughters: Anastasia B. Adams and Evelyn Ann Adams. Memorials can be made to The Chromosome 18 Registry and Research Society or to the Susan G. Koman Foundation. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.
