Funeral services for Evelyn Dell Jennings Lenard, 83, of Downsville, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 10, 2021 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home ~ West Monroe. Brother Louis Bartet and Dr. Ryan Jennings will officiate and interment will follow at Aulds Chapel Cemetery in Downsville, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M before the service.

Evelyn entered into her heavenly home on Sunday, November 7, 2021. She was born on October 28, 1939 in West Monroe. Evelyn spent some enjoyable years living in Little Elm, Texas to be close to her son and came back to Louisiana to finish her career. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Roy I. W. Jennings and Grace Williams Jennings.

Evelyn is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Jimmy Leon Lenard of Downsville; son, Jimmy Andrew Lenard of Downsville; three brothers, Roy Eugene Jennings and wife, Ginette of West Monroe, James Jennings and wife, Frances of Downsville, Marion Al Jennings and wife, Anita of Palm Coast, Florida; many other cherished family and friends.

Evelyn was a devoted wife and mother. She also loved to spoil her nieces and nephews.  Evelyn had a beautiful singing voice and loved Jesus so much that you could hear her many times burst out in song to her Lord. If you were blessed to be a friend of Evelyn’s you got to share in some of the delicious meals she would prepare for her family. She was an extraordinary good cook. Evelyn also loved the outdoors, basking in the beauty of her Lord’s creation. Her favorite pastime was working with her flower gardens and plants. Evelyn had a heart of gold when it came to her cats and dogs. She was passionate about her pets over the years and took pride in making each name personal to them.

Evelyn worked as a LPN for many years at Glenwood Regional Medical Center and St. Francis Hospital becoming knowledgeable in many varieties of medicine and procedures.

Pallbearers will be Curt Meachum, Perry Jordan, Josh Jennings, Sean Jennings, Paul Gates and Ryan Jennings.
