Peggy Sawyer left a message on May 22, 2022:
We meet a lot of people along life's path; some don't' make an impact while others set the task. A woman so determined to do not what was asked, but to do the things needed to help her family last. She might have complained, I've sometimes heard; but she never gave up, it was not her word. I thank God for the life she lived and her determination of soul and mind, for she was a woman of God, who was stern, but kind. She prayed for her family both day and night, from the youngest to the oldest with all her might, her desire was to know she'd see them in Heaven, and to hold them tight. I loved her openness of conversation, her willingness to hear and admit; God had blessed her with good health, not like others, she'd sigh for it. She didn't like change much, she wore her garments well; dressing like a lady of moral character, one could tell. She loved her old hymns, yes, she cherished them so; But one Sunday morning she shared a Psalm that opened her eyes she said, it told of a new song - and lifting one's hands, you know. Was she perfect? some would say, "No," while others would disagree; she was a woman of God, that's all that mattered to me; For she made the best of every situation, as best as she could, you see; It was her faith in Jesus that gave her strength and peace. My prayer for all that knew her, especially family, to remember how she loved them, all her family tree; But more than anything, remember, her hearts desire for you; to know Jesus, to follow Him, and to be free. In loving memory of Mrs. Erlene Baxter Skipper Elmore
