Funeral services for Elmarie Guice, 91, of Downsville will be held Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Providence Baptist Church, Point, Louisiana with Rev. James Tarrance, Rev. Louis Bartet officiating and Dr. Tim Green, Mike Gates and Lottie Ray sharing personal comments. Interment will follow at Acree Cemetery, Point, LA. Visitation will be held Saturday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
Elmarie was preceded in death by her husband Sanders Guice; son-in-law Jimmy Whitehead. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church and worked many years by her husband’s side in the logging business. She also drove a school bus for Union Parish School Systems of 17 years. She loved deer hunting, fishing and playing softball.
Elmarie is survived by her 3 children, Celie Whitehead, Travis Guice and Sheryl Bearden and husband Steve; sister, Maxine Littleton; grandchildren, Rory Whitehead and wife Brandy, Timmy Whitehead and wife Kim, Chad Whitehead and wife Marti, T. W. Guice, Brooke Anderson and husband Casey; great-grandchildren, Taylor Whitehead, Cierra Whitehead, Kelsey Naquin, Lola Thibodeaux, Morgan Whitehead, Ethan Whitehead, Selby Whitehead, Carson Whitehead, Carter Whitehead, Aurora Guice, Adler Anderson and Ellie Ann Anderson; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Charles Simpson, Ernie Bruce, Michael Wallace, George Brown, Terry Adkins and Mark Higdon.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
