Funeral services for Elizabeth Lee Edwards McGough, age 87, of Monroe will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, December 17, 2010, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Monroe under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Marion, LA. Officiating the service will be Susan Ferguson, associate minister of St. Paul's. Mrs. McGough was born September 23, 1923 in Monroe, LA and passed away peacefully December 13, 2010 in Monroe, LA. Mrs. McGough was a charter member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Ann Cole Sunday School Class, and La Petite Fleur Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie McGough; son, Mike McGough; sister, Jonnie Greenwood and husband, Vern; sister, Sybil Smith and husband Zell, Jr.; and her parents, John and Katholeen Edwards. Mrs. McGough is survived by her daughter, Martha Stevenson and husband, Jimmy; granddaughters, Angela Krause and husband, Cody; Mary Nichols and husband, Nathan; great granddaughters, Mia Krause and Kate Nichols; nieces, Carol Payne; Kathleen Holmes and husband, Louie; Sybil Anne Turner and husband, Robb; Sheryl Gowen and husband, Bill; nephew, Zell Smith III; and many great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Brian Bateman, Dr. Scott Burkett, Billy Haddad, Scott Hart, Jim Lockhart, and Steve Swander. Honorary pallbearers will be Klien Crow, Billy Cutler, Mike McInnis, and Van Pardue. The family would like to thank the staff of Avalon Place for their loving care of Mrs. McGough. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, or the Louisiana Methodist Children's Home in Ruston. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM, Friday, December 17, 2010 at St. Paul≠s United Methodist Church in Monroe.
