Elizabeth Elaine Guy Levy Funeral services for Elizabeth Elaine Guy Levy will be held at 10 am August 11, 2010 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Ruston. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Jerry Hilbun and Rev. Brian Mercer. A private interment will follow at the Vienna Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home. Elaine passed away at home in Vienna, Louisiana following a 15 month battle with cancer. She was born March 12, 1948 in Asheville, North Carolina. She was a long-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Ruston. She was involved in several organizations including serving as a member of the Board of Directors for the Louisiana Methodist Children's Home, a past member of the Board of Directors for the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, president of PRIDE of Lincoln, a member of the Louisiana Realtors Association, past President of Ruston Symphony Guild, charter member of the Junior Auxiliary of Ruston, member of the Vienna Planning and Zoning Commission, member of the Board of Waterworks District II, LSU Chi Omega Sorority, and Beta Sigma Phi. Elaine was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. She had an extraordinary way of making every person she encountered feel special. All that met her were embraced by her endearing smile and gracious spirit. Her husband, Bob, and their three daughters, Melanie, Jennifer, and Clair, will miss her a great deal. Although deeply saddened by their loss, they are comforted to know that she is now in the Lord's arms. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Elizabeth Guy, and by her loving father-in-law, Harold Levy. Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Bob Levy; daughters, Melanie Levy and Jennifer Levy, both of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; daughter, Clair Levy Knox, her husband Cory Knox, and grandson, Beaux Wallace Knox of Troutman, North Carolina. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Leland Guy and wife Margarita of New Orleans; sister, Carol Guy Louden and husband David of Birmingham, Alabama; mother-in-law, Billie H. Levy of Baton Rouge; brothers-in-law Byron Levy and wife Cathy of San Mateo, California; Mark Levy and wife Karen of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; 10 nieces and nephews; and many friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday August 10, 2010, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Ruston, Louisiana from 5 pm until 7pm Memorials may be made to the Methodist Children's Home in Ruston, 318 255-5020 or the charity of choice. Pallbearers will be Winston McVea, Allen Herbert, Sam Dauzat, James Davison, Jay Melancon, and Andy Shealy. Heartfelt appreciation is expressed for the efforts and care provided by the doctors and staff of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York; all of the personnel of the LSU Health Sciences Center, School of Medicine and Willis-Knighton Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana; and a very special thank you to Agape Hospice Group. Dear Mr. Levy & Family, When we moved to Ruston seven years ago, Elaine was recommended to help us find our home. We spent some wonderful days traveling around the town looking at houses and visiting. The day we moved in, she brought sandwiches, chips, and cookies to sustain us during the June heat as we got settled in. We then joined Trinity church and would still get to chat occasionally. She was such a sweet, loving person and had the knack to make all who came in contact with her feel special. I will miss seeing her around town and offer my sympathies for the loss to your family. Dear Bob, We have been saddened by Elaine's diagnosis and illness over the past 15 months, and know what Elaine, you, and your family have been through. We have prayed for all of you. Elaine was such a precious soul, and she and I often laughed over the fact that people often got us Nancy and Elaine confused! We remember the first time that we met you and Elaine at Temple Douglas's home in the early '80s, and will never forget your elaborate story of your trip to the "wilds" of the Mexican Yucatan on a "vacation"! Now that we have done some traveling, we have often wondered, "Just what was that "resort"?!? You and Elaine were definitely "ahead of the curve"! One of the hardest parts of our leaving Vienna was leaving such fine folks as you and Elaine. We know that you have a lifetime of wonderful memories with your dear wife. Mr. Levy, I met you when I start working here in the Farmerville Mayor's office. You're a very special person to me. I was very sorry to hear of the demise of your wife. I hope that you and your family will be comforted by your many special memories and in the thought of the happy times you shared.

Greg, Devin, Dalton, and I truly adored Elaine. She was truly a gracious lady! She was kind, thoughtful and generous. She was the perfect person to act as Greg's and my wedding coordinator. Bob, I saw where Elaine has departed us to go be with her Lord Who she served on mission here. I want you to be aware that the LPSO Reserve Deputy Unit has lifted her and your family before the Lord in prayer along the way. I will be in Nashville, TN., with my children on Tuesday of visitation and Wednesday of the funeral. When I visited Elaine in the hospital in NY on behalf of her LSU XO pledge class we caught up on the many intervening years since college. She spoke with great love and pride of her husband and three daughters and was thrilled about becoming a grandmother.
