Funeral services for Mr. Edward Thomas Norton, Sr., 83, of Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Monroe, La. Father Joe Putauttally will officiate. Burial will be at Monroe Memorial Park, Monroe LA, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA. Mr. Norton was born November 7, 1923 in Dorchester, Mass. and passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2007. Mr. Norton was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy Norton and parents, William Norton and Catherine Fitzgerald Norton, daughter, Mary Louise Devillier. Mr. Norton was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church, member of Knight of Columbus, Member of Brick Layers Association Local 03, Served in the U.S. Army during World War II, Mr. Norton was a Master Brick Mason who was instrumental with the development and growth of Monroe, La. Mr. Norton is survived by his daughters; Susan McFarlin of Cary, N.C., Dee Dee Wilkinson and husband George A. Wilkinson, Sr.; sons, Edward T. Norton, Jr. and wife Evelyn of Bently, La., Joseph Norton and wife Theresa of Jena, La., Jamie Norton of Monroe, La., John Norton and wife Joni Phillips Norton of Monroe, La. Survived by seventeen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be Jamie Norton, Edward Norton, Jr., Joseph Norton, John Paul Norton, Allen Wilkinson, Josef Cook Visitation will be Tuesday October 9, 2007 from 5-8 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe, LA.
