Funeral services for Edward George LaVigne III, 85, will be 10:00 AM, Friday, December 15, 2006 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father Job Edathinattu, CMI. Interment will follow at Monroe Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Mr. LaVigne was born in Potsdam, New York on November 13, 1921 and passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2006 in Bastrop, LA following a lengthy illness. Mr. LaVigne was a member of the U. S. Army Air Forces in WWII, serving in the South Pacific. He was involved in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church where he served as the organist for many years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a retired bookkeeper from Malone & Hyde Grocery Company. For the past several years was a resident of Summerlin Lane Nursing Home in Bastrop, LA. Mr. LaVigne is survived by his Wife: Marie Wolfe LaVigne of Bastrop, LA; Son: Ronald Edward LaVigne and wife, Cheryl of Swartz, LA; Daughter: Dianne LaVigne Wilson and husband, John of Collinston, LA; grandson: Ronald Edward ¨Sonny LaVigne, Jr. and wife, Jaime of Columbia, LA; great-grandson: Gabriel James ¨Gabe LaVigne of Columbia, LA. He was preceded in death by his father: Edward George LaVigne, Jr. and mother: Minnie Edith Peryer LaVigne, both of Colton, NY and four sisters of Potsdam, NY. Pallbearers will be Dennis Dunham, George Young, Terry Young, Donald Thrush, Bill Goss and Ronald Edward ¨Sonny LaVigne, Jr. In lieu of flowers the family requests and remembrances be given to the charity of one≠s choice or to St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Swartz, LA.
