Funeral services for Edieth Beverly Crossley Doles, age 82, of Monroe, LA will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2007 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe, LA with Rev. Larry Stafford officiating. Interment will follow at Wilmot Cemetery in Wilmot, AR under the direction of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Mrs. Doles was born June 5, 1924 in Wilmot, AR and passed away June 4, 2007 in Monroe, LA. Mrs. Doles graduated from Wilmot High School and attended Chillicothe School of Business in Chillicothe, Missouri and Northeast Louisiana State University in Monroe. She was the organizing regent for the D' Arbonne Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Doles was a member of the following organizations: Colonial Danes XVII Century, Daughters of the American Colonies, First United Methodist Church, FUM Women's Group, Collins Wossman Sunday School Class, Entre Nous Book Club and the Grand Slam Danes Bridge Group. Mrs. Doles arrived in Monroe in 1962 after extensive travels with her husband in his career as a naval aviator and chief liaison with the Supreme Allied Headquarter of Europe. The couple retired early to return to Louisiana to raise their two daughters. Mrs. Doles is survived by her husband, Commander Thomas Kinnaird Doles Rtd. of Monroe, LA; her daughters, Bonnie Jean Doles of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, Beverly Graham and husband Gary of Monroe, LA; grandsons Hutton Banks of Richmond, VA, Harrison Banks, a student in Oxford, MS, and Jeremy Graham of Baton Rouge, LA. Pallbearers will be: James Herbert Crossley, Lloyd Hughes Crossley, Jeff Foster, Hutton Banks, Harrison Banks, and Jeremy Graham. Honorary Pallbearers will be: David Doles, Jr., Basil Doles, Jr., Mike Doles, Don Doles, Jimmy Doles, Lee Foster, Jr., William Crossley, and Ronald Boone. Mrs. Doles was a pioneer patient in open-heart surgery at Bethesda Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland in 1959. While she far exceeded her surgeons' expectations, she was under the careful watch of her local physicians. A special thank you to Dr. Kerry Anders, Dr. Bob Sarama, and Dr. Napoli for their expertise but most especially for their patience, kindness and warmth. A heartfelt thank you to Kami Worley and Wilma Hart. Memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church of Monroe or the American Heart Association. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2007 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe and the funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 8 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.
