To Mary Alice, I love you and am so thankful for you. Dr. Crowell was my most precious and favorite pastor. He taught at the pulpit rather than preaching at people. It was obvious by his example the love for Christ he had. The memory I think of most taught me a lesson in respect and humility. One Sunday evening during his sermon, Dr. Crowell called out our little chatty group sitting in the back of the church. After church, my parents promptly sought me out to explain how disappointed they were. I had no idea what they were talking about because I was talking so much that I never even heard Dr. Crowell call us out. Oh my! I felt so guilty and embarrassed because I was being so disrespectful to a man I admired very much. My parents suggested I apologize, which I did. Dr. Crowell was very gracious (it was my first offense ;)) but made it clear to me the importance of respect to not only him, but to everyone. I will never forget this lesson and I will never forgot him and the impact Dr. Crowell has made in my life. I sure do love you and can't wait to see you again in heaven.

May he Rest In Peace. May the joy of his memory soon replace the sorrow of missing him. I met Mr. Lionel, Mrs. Mary and Lola on December of 2019 at their home, where they hosted a dinner in memory of James Calhoun. They were kind, generous, and gracious. Mr. Lionel was resting at his bedroom, but from his chair he was still taking care that everyone felt welcomed and entertained. Duty above all. He signed and gifted his book to me and dedicated some of his time to embrace me and comfort me. His piercing eyes reminded me of Christopher Reeve. His kindness reminded me of my own father. Mary and Lola, my heart and prayers are with you.
