I worked with Buzzy for a number of years as the secretary for EE/ELET/CSC until he finally decided to make it offical and retire after saying he was many times and never doing it. He would always say I will hang in for one more year. He was a joy to work with and I still have one of his clown cards under my keyboard at work. He was always there for his students and it didn't matter what time of the day. He would often come in to work saying that he came back to NH and was there till 5:30 AM and was running on coffee. He will be missed. Joyce Bryan COES LA Tech

Dr. Roots was one of the great teachers at Louisiana Tech. His favorite response to a student explaining their lack of time for one his class projects was “What do you have planned for tomorrow between 2 am and 6 am?” Dr. Roots was frequently in the EE building at 2am. I was fortunate enough to have him as a teacher, advisor, and friend.
