I enjoyed knowing Douglas if not for the short time I knew him. It was great to hear him wail on the bass. I will miss him and send my condolences to the family. I will be posting a website soon which is dedicated to Douglas and my friend Farlene who also passed away recently. You may contact me at penny.burbank@gmail.com for the website update. It should be posted this week and you can do a search on his name.

I would like to send my best to the family and friends of Doug. Many of you I have neither met, nor do I remember, but I was sad to hear of his passing. I had a friend pass a year ago in the Nashville Flood and I have spent a lot of time regretting the time not spent together rather than being grateful for what little time was spent enjoying life. Only after realizing that the latter is how all people want us to continue in our journey, could mine begin.

Although I have not seen Doug in many years, I have nothing but good memories of him when we were growing up. He was a great cousin. My heart goes out to Zelda and the rest of his family. Doug has now joined his Dad and my Dad...what joy!

Doug was a close friend to myself and my brother Tommy. We were teammates together and he was a friend and rock and roll band member with Tommy. Doug was as kind in ways as he was tough in others. If you were hanging by a rope off a cliff, you would have been very lucky to see Doug holding the rope. Doug, many of my teenage memories will have a little hurt in them now with you gone. Love,Jimmy
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

I had not seen Doug for years now, but I will miss him. Doug was my best friend for a long, long time during my school days elementary - high school. Doug and I were classmates from elementary school through high school and played in bands together all through high school with Corly and Richard Medaris, Craig Jacola, etc.. I always thought Doug was the "coolest" guy I knew. Kind, thoughtful, humble, funny. He was so incredibly grounded, a perfect bass player, holding everything together for the band and as he held everything together for his friends, but doing it in the background, without desire for glory. Just the opposite of ego-driven lead guitarists and singers. I loved the guy and wish I had had the opportunity to hang out with him more often during the last four decades that I have been in Texas. To his wife, sons, brothers, and mother ....my deepest, deepest sympathy!

What a great friend! We went to Highland School together. A very good athlete and bass player.Always greeted you with a smile and a fine sense of humor. Was always with one or both of the Medaries brother's, Clyde or Richard or Tom Burnett. I'm so sorry.
