Funeral services for Mr. Douglas Martin, 86 of West Monroe, LA will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, July 8, 2010 at McClendon Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Crandall and Rev. Justin Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Mr. Martin was born February 8, 1924 in Ouachita Parish and passed away July 4, 2010 in West Monroe. He was a member of McClendon Baptist Church and his hobbies were music, playing the harmonica, gardening and he loved his families and friends. Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, T. John and Maggie Martin; brothers, Doyle, Charles Mason and Conny G. Martin. Mr. Martin is survived by his wife of 59 years, Effie Cloyd Martin, daughter Shelia Martin; son Darrell Martin; granddaughter Alisha Martin Clark and her husband Justin; grandson, Shane Martin and wife Jennie; brother Huey Pete Martin and wife Mary Ruth; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
