Dorothy Golden Smith, 99, went to be with our Lord on August 17, 2020. Born in Hico, Louisiana, to Mr. And Mrs. W.L. Golden, she died peacefully at her home in Bernice, Louisiana.

She is survived by one son, Toni Edgar Smith of Bernice, daughter-in-law, Ruby K. Smith of Ruston, one daughter, Wanda Smith Witherington and husband Jon Paul Witherington of Bernice, four grandchildren, Jeff Smith and wife Kacey, Pamela Smith Neal and husband Nathan, India Witherington and husband Jon Chilton Dick, and Asia Witherington Wright and husband Jason. She was blessed with seven great-grandchildren Brittany Smith, Milan Witherington, Jon G. Witherington-Boyett, Sydney Witherington Brown, Gabe Witherington-Boyett, Stone Wright, and Phoenix Robinson.  She enjoyed a large number of nieces and nephews as well as her long time friends, Mary and Joe Stidam.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 68 years, Marvin E. Smith, four brothers, Q.B. Golden, Raymond B. Golden, Cornelius Golden and Edward Lee Golden, and one loving sister, Ruthell Golden Goffstein.

There will be a private graveside service on Thursday, August 20, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. with Bro. Wayne Sistrunk officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Evergreen Baptist Church, 1380 Evergreen Rd., Bernice, LA. 71222.
