Services will be under the direction and care of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville and officiated by Reverend Donald Reeves. Don passed away peacefully on January 14, 2023 following a long illness. He was born, as one of seven siblings, on November 10, 1940 in Haile, Louisiana and was a graduate of Linville High School in 1958.
Don is survived by his first wife, Carolyn Wheeler; three sons, Don Jr., Darren and wife Sandy, and Willie; daughter, Angela Forbes; three brothers, Charlie William (C.W.), Joe, and John; and step-granddaughter Meghan Elkhair. Don worked for Commercial Solvents (now ANGUS) in Sterlington for a number of years before becoming a private pilot instructor at the Farmerville Airport. He was also known for his skills as a homebuilder with five homes on Wheeler Road alone.

He was also quite proficient in electronics and TV repair. In addition, Don was also an amateur radio operator with the call sign of W5GNS. Upon retirement, he led a quiet life in the rural Linville/Haile community.
