Funeral services for Donald H. “Donnie” Cummings will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 16, 2023 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Private interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until service time at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.

Donnie was born May 30, 1950 in Monroe, LA and passed away May 14, 2023 in West Monroe, LA. Donnie served in the United States Army and work as a Land Man for a telecommunications company. He loved to fish and was an old car collector. Donnie was preceded in death by his father James “J.T.” Thomas Cummings, mother Hazel Lee Cummings Hollister; sister Pam Cummings Frith and twin brother Ronnie Cummings.

Donnie is survived by his wife Judy Cummings; nephew John David Frith and wife Alane, Kenneth Toby Frith and wife Rachel; nieces Samantha Frith Crawford and husband Craig, Niki Frith Hagan and husband Stephan; several great and great great nieces and nephews.

Donnie was a Friend of mine that was always there....especially in my fondest memories growing up. He and Ronnie were always ready to have a good time back in the day especially when they came back from working offshore. One of my fondest memories was the night we started out frog hunting and ended up in Galveston Texas for the next 3 days....the guys with us said we don't have any money but Donnie and Ronnie said not to worry we are going and gonna have a great time....and a Great Time we had..on the beach, surfing and doing what most guys our age did back then. I am sad that My Friend is gone but I will always have him in my heart.

I am totally shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my good friend Donnie. We met about 8 years ago working as landmen on a pipeline project and and remained good friends since then talking on the phone weekly and having lunch on a regular basis. I will miss him greatly and offer my sincere condolences and prayers to Judy and family.

I went to WMHS with Donnie. We ran into each other a couple of times at Brookshires. He hadn’t changed and we visited briefly. We talked about the cats he was feeding! It was a conversation I did not expect! A real nice man just trying to do what he could to help them!
