Kathy, I only this week learned of Don's death. I was stunned. It was only a couple of years ago that I ran into the two of you and Rennie and Becky at Mitcham's Peach Orchard Store. I am deeply saddened at his death but proud to have known him and to have had you as neighbors when we all first moved to Baton Rouge way back in 1973. Don was a gentle man and a gentleman and his death was a huge loss for everyone who knew him. Please accept my belated condolences, coming as they do more than a year after the fact.

There is no doubt when Don arrived at the Golden Gates God embraced him and said.... "Well done my good and faithful servant! " Don was by far one if the finest fellas I have ever known. And from the day he met Kathy... You knew they were truly a match made in heaven. I will light a candle at Mass for Don's light continue to shine from heaven! Much love to Kathy and the family.

Dear Kathy and Family, Bud and I are very sad to hear about Don's passing. We were unable to attend in person as we were out of state last week. Since high school I remember the two of you as a loving couple, and believed it to continue and carry on for these past 49 years. I also remember Don as a wonderful, kind, and nice man who shared the same birthday with me. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time. Love, Stephana and Bud

Kathy, Heather and Wes I’m so very sorry for your loss, Don was a wonderful person and friend! He was a man with so much wisdom of the Bible’s was so interesting to talk too! But to me he was just a genuine person, he loved his family and grands so much! And he cared for so many people I never met a person that didn’t like Don! I know yalls hearts are broken because mine is, colbi said there wasn’t a time he came in State Farm and told colbi to tell me he loved me and missed me that meant so much to me. He will be truly missed and never forgotten sending big hugs, love and prayers to your beautiful family??? I don’t know if y’all know this but one day at work Kelly was asking him a bunch of questions about the Bible he brought her outside and prayed with her and she was saved that very day?? I love y’all Howard’s and I pray God will give y’all some peace in these hard days to come, I’ve thought about y’all all day and still find this so hard to believe? lots of love and hugs sent to this beautiful family! Love y’all Staci Mounce
