Funeral services for Richard “Dick” Tipton Sr. will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Beulah Methodist Church Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home ~ West Monroe. Rev. Jerry Salisbury will officiate. Visitation will be held at the cemetery prior to the service from 9:30 until 10:00 A.M.
Dick retired as a lineman from Highlines and then went to work for Entergy. He retired from Entergy with over 35 years of experience and service. He was born May 16, 1938 in Bow, Kentucky and passed away on July 11, 2020 in West Monroe. Dick lived in Calhoun, Louisiana for fifty years and was an outdoorsman and literally enjoyed hunting anything. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Nellie Tipton; brother, Clyde Tipton.
Dick was a loving husband, father, and grandfather to his entire family. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife for 55 years, Linda Faye Smith Tipton; children, Richard Tipton, Jr. and wife, Lisa of Bernice, James Tipton of Alexandria, Wanda Neal and husband Stan of Mississippi; brothers, Andy “Mac” Tipton of West Monroe and Lonnie Tipton of West Monroe; three grandchildren, Tiffany Tipton, Cody Tipton, and Lacy Brown; six great-grandchildren, Gracie, Storie Brooke, Ben, Charlie, Nicholas, and T.J.; numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished family and friends.
Dick loved children and children loved him, which gave him a special way of being a grandpa to many others.
