Funeral services for Mrs. Diana Louise Thorne Key, 46, of Fultondale, AL will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 24, 2010 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe. Officiating the service will be Dr. Wayne Evans and Brother Joe Solomon. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Mrs. Key was born November 25, 1963 in Monroe and passed away September 20, 2010 in Birmingham, AL following a brief illness. Diana attended La. Tech on a vocal scholarship. She won both state and national awards for her song writing and guitar compositions and was listed in Who's Who in High School Music. Diana was a loving wife, daughter, sister and aunt who will be missed by her family and many close friends. She believed in helping others and donated her organs so that others might have a better life. She lived her life as a Christian and has now gone to be with her Lord in Heaven. She is preceded in death by her father, Delmas Thorne; maternal grandparents, Melvin and Louise Horn; paternal grandparents, Walter and Kathryn Thorne; and aunt, Brenda Bilko. Survivors include her husband, John Key of Fultondale, Ala; mother, Jeanie Thorne of West Monroe; brother, Robert Thorne of West Monroe; niece, Madison Thorne of West Monroe; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Pallbearers will be Randell Landrum, Randy Landrum, Brian Moore, Jeremy Perkins, William Piquiet, Chris Soignier, Richard Thorne and Robbie Tolbird. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 23, 2010 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe.
