Gregory White left a message on December 19, 2022:
I am saddened to hear about the passing of Mr. McCallouch. I never knew of his background but I knew he was definitely different from other guards at the detention center. I was incarcerated there for nearly a year.Although he couldn’t show favoritism,he always treated me with compassion. That was in 1989.Fast forward 25 years and I run into Mr.Mc at one of the restaurants in West Monroe. He was there with his grandchildren and he remembered me right away and was pleased with me never returning to any jail. I was baptized at Lincoln Parish Detention Center and I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. On top of that I found out we share the same birthday! I should have known he was a man of God simply by his demeanor. He was a big tall man too but he never pushed his weight around. I want the family to know that he touched many lives that only God knows who was blessed to meet him!
