Funeral services for Ms. Delores Jane “Sally” Smith will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Lincecum Cemetery, Grant Parish, LA. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Wednesday December 1, 2021 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.

Sally was born on September 23, 1948 in Monroe, LA and passed away from this life in her home on November 19, 2021 at the age of 73. She loved God, bingo, her family and friends. Sally was avid pool player who was a volunteer worker for benefits, families and community. You could always go by her house and she was either watching The Price is Right, listening to gospel music or sitting outside enjoying her coffee or Hershey Bar and the wind blowing. She called the wind her “breeze from Heaven”. Sally is preceded in death by her father, Joe Dempsey Smith, mother, Maudine Smith; brothers, Harry Walter Chellette, Larry Joe Smith, Troy Edward Aaron, Luther Smith; grandson, William Gabriel Jones.

Those left to cherish her memories include her sons, Jimmy Lee Knighten (Susan Sullivan) of West Monroe and Joey Knighten of West Monroe; daughters, Sandra (Claude) Haley of West Monroe, Bobbie Sue Boothe (Brandi Johns) of Alexandria; brothers, Donnie Ray Smith of West Monroe, Roy Wayne Aaron of West Monroe; aunt, Nelda Smith of West Monroe; grandchildren, Hailey Knighten, Dusty Knighten,  Jeremy Haley, Chel’sea Haley, Stormy Knighten, Joseph William Knighten, Jr., Samantha Ard, Sammy Jones, Joesph Jones, David Jones, Lillie Jones; two step-grandchildren, Jason Heyl and Chance Johns; great grandchildren, Ce’lena Haley, and A’Myiah Curry.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Haley, Claude Haley, Jimmy Knighten, Sammy Jones, Joesph Jones and Jason Heyl. Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Knighten and David Jones.

The family would like to thank Nurse Mindy and the DME Express for providing her medical equipment, along with a special thank you to Heart of Hospice.
