Deede Eubanks Whitten

March 4, 1971 - January 6, 2008

Funeral services honoring the life of Deede Eubanks Whitten will be held 2 pm Friday, January 11, 2008 at Cook Baptist Church, Ruston, LA. Officiating will be Brent Shoalmire. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Ruston, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA.Deede was born March 4, 1971 in Pittsburg, PA to Virginia and Ray Eubanks. She went home to be with her Lord January 6, 2008 in Blandon, PA following a lengthy illness.Deede was a graduate of Ruston High School and attended Louisiana Tech University. She was devoted to her family as well as her many friends and relatives. She maintained a lifelong commitment to her home church, Cook Baptist Church in Ruston.She was preceded in death by her son Brayton James Whitten and her father Ray Eubanks.She is survived by her husband Ron, her children Tessa, Jace, and Caleb, her mother Virginia Eubanks, her sister Diane Fitch and husband Bill, her brother Doug Eubanks and wife Kathy, as well as 5 nephews and 4 nieces. She is also survived by loving aunts and uncles.Pallbearers for the service will include Doug Eubanks, Chris Eubanks, Bill Fitch, Adam Graham, Blain Lehman, Aub Ward, Edward Hayes, and Bill Meyers.A fund has been set up by the principals of the children?s schools to benefit Deede?s children. In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made to this fund at Whitten Family Fund c/o Fleetwood Bank, PO Box 105, Fleetwood, PA 19522.

I just wanted to say how sorry I was to hear about Deede.  Because we had the same name and it was not very common we of course hit it off right away discussing the fact that it was her nickname, my real name , etc.  Even though I haven't seen her in years, I did talk to her on the phone a few years back and I can still see in my mind that bright smile that she always had and the bright eyes she had too.  I will never forget her.
