On December 6, 2022, Deanna “Dee” Armstrong Schimmel, age 62, of Monroe, LA entered into Heaven. Dee was born in Monroe on November 29, 1960.

Dee’s parents, Travis and Lillian Aulds Armstrong preceded her in death and are waiting at heaven’s gates along with her brother, Tony Armstrong. Her sister, Rosalind Stringer of Brandon, MS and her brother, Freddy Armstrong of Rocky Branch are left here to miss Dee.

Funeral services will be held at Rocky Branch Community Center (formerly Rocky Branch Church of Christ) Sunday, December 11 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will occur Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.

Those left behind to mourn Dee’s passing include her husband, Gary Schimmel, Children, April Griffin, Jessie Minor, and Toni Schimmel of West Monroe. Grandchildren, Collin Minor, Luke Daniel, and Delilah Minor will miss Dee tremendously.

Dee had many interests as she was multi talented. She loved Bluegrass music, Crocheting, Traveling, Camping, Jewelry Making, and all things crafty. She cooked and baked and participated in square dancing where she met her husband, Gary. Her vocations included real estate agent, bus driver, home health nurse as well as Cosmetologist.

Pallbearers will be Monty Burnett, Chase Bartley, Dale Schimmel, Jason Minor, John Shelburne, and Huey Tatum.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard Stringer and Scotty Wayne Aulds.
