Dawn Upshaw Rose Kilpatrick Funeral Home Monroe, LA Funeral services for Dawn Upshaw Rose, 26, of Sterlington will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 14, 2006 in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe on Lamy Lane. Officiating will be Rev. J.L. Williams and Rev. Rodney Sanders. Interment will follow at Monroe Memorial Park on Highway 80 under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Dawn Upshaw Rose was born on November 13, 1979 and passed way on June 10, 2006. Dawn was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Maloia and Clyde Upshaw; maternal grandfather: Joe New. She is survived by her husband: Russell Rose, Jr. of Downsville; daughter: Grace Caroline Rose; mother: Deborah New Upshaw; father: Danny Clyde Upshaw, Sr.; brother: Danny Upshaw, Jr. all of Sterlington; maternal grandmother: Julia New; parents in law: Sammay and Dale Rose; numerous family member and friends. Dawn was a graduate of Sterlington High School and the University of Louisiana at Monroe Nursing School. She currently was working at St. Francis in the SICU. She was a member of Enterprise Baptist Church. Her family would like for her to be remembered as a loving mother and wife who adored her daughter, Grace. Very special thanks to her extended family at St. Francis Medical Center and to her best friend, April Duckworth. Pallbearers will be George Upshaw, Scott Upshaw, Joey New, Brad New, Jeff Duckworth and Rock Hill. Dear Upshaw Family, I am sorry to hear about the loss of Dawn. She was a wonderful person and friend. I went to school and graduated with Danny. I will remember you all in my prayers. Please know that Dawn is resting in the loving arms of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus. May His gentle grace and love give you strength at this difficult time.

Debbie, I'm so sorry to hear of Dawns passing. Angel was the first person I called to tell. She has so many child hood memories of Dawn, some that only they could share. Dawn, Little Man, and I were troublemakers back when I lived in Sterlington. Dawn and Little Man have always been apart of my greatest childhood memories, and I think I spent more time your your house, Debbie, than at my own. Dawn was truly special, and I know that she must have been a wonderful mother. We were always playing "Mama" with our dolls. Of course we would take time out to play "war" with Little Man, but that just shows how diverse Dawn was even back then. She was one tough girl! I haven't seen you all since you attended my wedding, but my memories of Dawn's sweet spirit have not faded with time. My prayers are with you all, and I know that the heavy grief is painful. Take time to mourn and love her in your own way. I loved her, and I love you all. May God bless you.

I was very saddened to hear of your loss today. I graduated Nursing School at ULM with Dawn. She always had a smile on her face and some encouraging words to offer me. She will be greatly missed. Unfortunately, I cannot attend the funeral. However, my prayers and thoughts are with you in the difficult days to come.

Dawn worked for our department the summer of 2004. She was not just a worker for our department, she became a friend. We spent many hours talking about our puppies and the different things happening in our lives. Dawn always had a smile and it was a privilege to have her work with us in our deparment. We were shocked when we saw the newspaper this morning, but we want the family to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We know it is a great loss for your family.
