Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to service time of 11:00 AM in the Temple.Corrie Lee was born in Union Parish November 1, 1919 to Wade and Eva Mae Byrom and passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Wayne Byrom of Opelousas; infant son: John Bruce Telford; daughter: Judith Ann Crawford; and husband: Preston Telford after 65 years, 3 months, and 21 days of marriage.She is survived by her son: Jim Telford; son-in-law: J.D. Crawford; five grandsons: Brian Crawford (Elizabeth); Jamey Telford (Traci); Joe Dan Telford (Ashley); Brent Crawford (Lindsey); Jeremy Telford (Kristen); a granddaughter: Leslie Colwell (Wesley); five great- granddaughters: Allison Telford; Alexis Telford; Autumn Claire CoIwell; Faith Crawford; Emma Kate Telford: nine great-grandsons: Garrett Crawford; Aaron Crawford; Dillon Telford; Preston Telford; Wade Crawford; Mason Colwell; Eli Crawford; William Crawford; Hunter Colwell: brothers: Elvin Byrom of Parrish, FL; Billy Byrom of Baton Rouge, LA; Charles (Snap) Byrom of Westlake, LA; brother-in-law: Leon Telford of West Monroe, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.Corrie Lee grew up in the Pisgah Community (Bernice, LA area) in the same house where her father was born. She attended elementary school on the grounds of Pisgah Baptist Church (grades 1-5) and then went on to Bernice High School until graduation (grades 6-11). Going home to Pisgah was her favorite outing. As long as she was able, she never missed the yearly Pisgah Baptist Church Homecoming which is held the first Sunday of May.She met and married Preston Telford and after his service of 2.5 years in the United States Army, they moved to Ruston, LA. They built their first two homes on Eastland Avenue and later built their present and final home on Sherwood Drive. Soon after moving to Ruston, they joined Temple Baptist Church and remained active members for the rest of their lives. She enjoyed many service roles at Temple with teaching the 9 year old girls Sunday School Class being among one of her favorites. Many years were also spent volunteering her time as a Pink Lady at Lincoln General Hospital. In her senior years, she traveled along with her husband on many church group trips traveling throughout the United States.Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Brian Crawford, Jamey Telford, Joe Dan Telford, Brent Crawford, Jeremy Telford, and Wesley Colwell.Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com
