Funeral services for Connie H. Grenfell, 85, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, will be held at 11:00 A.M.,
Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Monroe. Visitation will be held prior to
the service from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Don Delukie will officiate and interment will follow at the
Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Connie was born on March 5, 1937 in Laran, Louisiana and passed away June 27, 2022 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was an educator in East Baton Rouge Parish for 38 years. Connie attended Louisiana Tech and was a graduate of the LSU master program. Connie was preceded in death by her parents George
and Willie Mae Hollis; sisters, Lorraine H. Phillips (Aubry), and Barbara H. Love (Dale); brothers, Douglas
Hollis (Maxine), James U. Hollis (Josephine), and George L. Hollis, Jr. She is survived by her sons, Michael V. Grenfell (Debra) and John D. Grenfell (Kathy); grandchildren, Stephania, Jordan, Grant, Brady, Ty and Aubry; brother, Grant “Buddy” Hollis (Carlon) and sister-in-law, Lucille G. Hollis. Connie always said her grandchildren were her greatest joy. She loved flowers, collecting pottery, trips to Canton, Texas (she loved flea markets, could never pass one up) and “girls” trips to the beach. Tutoring children to help them achieve goals was a gift and she loved the children that were entrusted in her care. All children were special to her. She had that special spark to kindle a child to try just a little bit
harder. Connie loved animals. Her constant companion for the last seven years was a beautiful, brown
curly haired dog with brown eyes named Allie, who followed her every movement. All memorials can be made to American Heart Association or St Jude Children’s Hospital. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com
