Funeral services for Mr. Clint Parnell, 91, of West Monroe are 10:00AM, Monday, December 6, 2010, in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe with Dr. George Wortham officiating. Interment follows at Sibley Cemetery in Choudrant under the direction of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe, LA. Mr. Parnell was born September 14, 1919 in Choudrant, a son of the late Algie and Edith Humphries Parnell and passed away Dec. 4, 2010 in West Monroe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Christy Parnell Justus; a sister, Maudie Mae Sanderson; a brother, James Parnell; and a nephew, Josh Parnell. A US Army First Sergeant and WW II veteran of combat operations in the European Theater, Mr. Parnell was an active member of Highland Presbyterian Church and had been an Elder and Deacon at Memorial Presbyterian Church. He retired with over 35 years of service as a bus operator with Continental Trailways. He is survived by his loving wife of over 57 years, Celess Watts Parnell; a daughter, Celia Parnell James, and husband, Paul; 3 grandchildren, Jeremy Rowdon and wife, Mari; Mallory Rowdon Johnson, and husband, Chuck; and Darren Justus and wife, Lana; 3 great grandsons, Jayden Rowdon, Linden Justus, and Dayton Johnson; 2 brothers, Ray Parnell and wife, Beverly, and Jack Layne Parnell; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation is Sunday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe, LA.
