Funeral services for Charlotte Derrick Thomas Smith will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday April 3, 2023 at Point Assembly of God with Pastor Louis Bartet and Rev. Todd Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at New Chapel Hill Cemetery West Monroe. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until service time at the church under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
Charlotte was born August 20, 1948 in Delhi, LA and passed away March 29, 2023 in Monroe, LA. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ronney Dale Thomas; parents J.C. and Mary Alice Derrick; and her sister Katherine Derrick Douglas.
Charlotte is survived by her husband James R. Smith; children Todd Thomas and wife Tara, Michelle Lamb and husband Bill, Derek Thomas and wife Wendy and step-daughter April Debruhl; 11 grandchildren Michael Thomas, Alysson Hendrixson, Jacob Lamb, Robert Lamb, Zack Lamb, Samuel Thomas, Jack Thomas, step-grandchildren Brianna Redd, Miranda Holmes, Victoria Carter and Samantha Thigpen; great-grandchildren Rey Lamb, Audrey Lamb, Bristol Holmes, Landry Holmes, Kip Holmes, Briggs Thigpen, Briley Ratliff, Halen Bonner, Kristopher Redd, Kadance Redd, Tate Carter, Ronney Hendrixson; nieces Mary Katherine Long and Patti Reed.
The most important thing in her life was Jesus Christ and her family. Her hobbies were gardening and sewing. She loved teaching Sunday School and loved working with children.
Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Thomas, Samuel Thomas, Robert Lamb, Michael Holmes, Jason Reed, Dyun Long and Austin Redd.
