Funeral services for Charles Todd Gillespie, 48, of West Monroe, La.  will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 29, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Ferriday, LA with Pastor Anthony Stewart and Pastor Kevin Ulmer officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Natchez, Mississippi. Visitation will be held Friday, May 28, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe and Saturday from 12:00 PM until service time at First Baptist Church- Ferriday.

Todd graduated in 1991 from Huntington High School in Ferriday, La moved to Monroe, La to attend Northeast Louisiana University, currently, University of Louisiana at Monroe where he graduated with a master’s degree in Criminal Justice. The same year, he started working at Sam’s Club, in Monroe, and has been there ever since. It was at college where he met Christy. Todd arrived at a college crawfish boil in a Cadillac where he caught Christy’s eye. Todd stepped out and Christy was very intrigued by him and the rest is history. He was the love of her life and they were married on June 20, 2020. His friends, co-workers, and family all say that he was the kindest, funniest, most loyal person anyone will ever meet and never met a stranger. Todd was the life of the party everywhere he went and was well known on Fraternity Row and will always be considered a Legend. His love of LSU was well known, and he attended many games. Todd or Uncle T, his nickname to his nieces and nephews, enjoyed spending time with friends and family and always put a smile on faces, like the time he rocked a woman’s wig or dressed up for Halloween as Hannibal Lecter. Todd and Christy were blessed with 4 fur babies, Lola, Jersey, Tuff, and Ellie. We all know that he is having a heck of a party in Heaven with his loved ones including Lola and Jersey. He will continue to watch over Christy, Tuff, Ellie and the rest of his family and friends. A quote that is often spoken about Todd is, “to know him is to love him”, and truer words have never been spoken.

Todd was born December 16, 1972 in Natchez, MS and passed away May 24, 2021 in West Monroe, La. Todd is preceded in death by his parents Hattie Ruth and Charles William Gillespie; grandparents, Joe Joplin andLucille Joplin, Samuel Gillespie and Lovis Gillespie; and his fur babies, Lola and Jersey.

Todd is survived by his wife, Christy Gillespie; sister, Jodi G. Lushute and husband Jason; brother, Chris Gillespie(Donna); mother and father-in-law, Glen and Brenda Hall; sisters-in-law, Christie Nelson (Andy), Angie Strickland (Seth)& Melissa Abbott (Mikey) nieces& nephews, Charles Erich Gillespie, Sarah Gillespie, Josie Nelson, Kaylee Jo Nelson, Zane Abbott, Gage Strickland, Tucker Abbott, and Lily Grace Abbott; and his fur babies, Tuff & Ellie.

Pallbearers will be Chris Porter, Wayne Wilson, Gary Neal, Chris Krahn, Michael Renfrow, Kurt Scarrurro, Mikey Abbott and Skipper Peavy.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerrett Watson, Jason Lushute, Chris Gillespie, Todd Smith, Drew Taylor, Andy Nelson, Seth Strickland, Todd’s fellow Co-workers at Sam’s Club and Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
