Doug was a great guy. I only really knew him for the last 9 years, but had considerable dealings with him regarding the Jackson Bienville WMA youth turkey hunt, turkey projects on the WMA, signage for the Jackson Bienville Wildlife Habitat Program, and just to talk turkey and wildlife management. Doug always supported everything we had going on JB WMA. I know he was involved in so many other things as well, but my ties with him were mainly at JB. He will be missed, and will be one that I think of regularly when I see a kid hunting on the WMA, see a big gobbler strutting, or hear one sounding off on a cool spring morning. Doug will likely cross my mind everytime I go to Denton Bottom on the WMA, which Doug knew like the back of his hand, and which all of us that hunted JB and knew him well did not refer to as Denton Bottom, but rather referred to it as Doug's Honey Hole. He will be missed and thought of often. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and all that will miss Doug. God bless. Jeff Johnson WMA Biologist Supervisor LA Dept. of Wildlife & Fisheries

First met Doug in the 70's when we both were involved getting turkeys established in Lincoln Parish. Fortunate to have shared several hunts with Doug in Arkansas. He had a great love and passion for the turkey and his turkey hunting friends. He was a good friend that I will miss, but will have the memories of our hunts. My prayers are with the family.
