On October 2, 2021, Charles Burton Mullin Jr (Charles) of Destin, Florida (formerly of Covington, Louisiana) passed away at the age of 57 years.
Charles grew up in Tchefuncta Club Estates in Covington, Louisiana. He attended school at River Forest Academy, St. Paul’s School, and Covington High School (CHS). After graduating from CHS in 1983, he worked locally until his mid-thirties. He then moved to Destin, Florida where he owned and operated a pontoon boat and jet ski rental. He enjoyed working at Elmo’s restaurant, as well as spending time in Walton Plantation, an area where he owned land and worked locally.
Charles was well known in the Covington area where he loved fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors. He continued these favorite hobbies during his time in Destin. One highlight was bagging a 10′ and 11’9″ alligator in consecutive years and presenting them at the Destin Fishing Rodeo! He made the front page of the October 15-18, 2011 “the Destin Log”! Everyone who knew Charles loved his catchy smile, wit, and charm. He will be missed by family and friends.
Charles is survived by his mother Monique Mullin, sister Yvette Mullin Broocks (John), and his niece and nephew, Emily and Hank Broocks. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Burton Mullin Sr.
A private interment will be held in north Louisiana. Later in the fall of 2021, a celebration of his life will occur on the Tchefuncte River where he grew-up and enjoyed spending time. Details will be communicated at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation to Cast for Kids (https://castforkids.org), a charity who helps special needs children through a fishing experience, in his name.
