Funeral services for Mrs. Louise Fowler-Saylor, 91, of Eros, LA, will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Mike Barnett and Dr. Scott Thompson. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Church Cemetery, Eros, LA, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Our mother was born March 20, 1920 in Calhoun, LA and passed away February 18, 2012 in West Monroe. She is preceded in death by her mother Ola Green; and her brother Earl Thompson. Our mother will be sorely missed, not only by family, but by many friends. She was tireless in helping others and serving in her church. Even up to the end she was saying she wanted to return to the choir. She had an unconditional love for all people and animals. No dog in need was missed by our mom. Adults still told her they appreciated her teaching them in Sunday School. Even in her seventies she went back to school and got her education in working with nursing home patients. She worked hard all her life and now her work is done. Her legacy to her family and others is to love everyone, care for others, and always face life's obstacles with faith and laughter. She always endured hardships with courage and forgiveness. She was an inspiration even up to the last day of her life. Survivors include her husband Kin Saylor; three daughters, Alice Faye Farmer and husband Johnny of Corbin, KY, Anita Louise Gordon and husband George of Tyler, TX, and Cheryl Kaye Howell and husband Robert of Porter, TX; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Richie Evans, Stanley Thompson, Pete Daniels, Gary DeMoss, Ken Gordon, and George Gordon. Visitation will be held Monday, February 20, 2012 from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Eros, LA. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the ICU Staff and 3rd Floor Staff at Glenwood Hospital, and a special thanks to Phyllis Brode who helped our family in so many ways. Also thanks to Bernice Morse, Donna Gardner, and Debra Hammons for their care during our mother's illness.
