Catherine Canterberry Ballard was born on November 23, 1917 and died February 4, 2014. She was married to Ingram Ballard until his death in 1965. There are three children: Ann, Steve, and Richard, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She had several nieces and nephews as well as some very special adopted adult children.Mrs. Ballard loved her church and her church family. She was closest to the past and present members of the Ballard Sunday school class which she organized thirty five years ago.She was a retired teacher beginning her career in a one room school and ending teaching seventh grade math at Farmerville Jr. High. She enjoyed Delta Kappa Gamma and the retired teacher organizations where she held several positions.Catherine Ballard was well known and respected throughout Farmerville and Union Parish.Visitation and funeral will be at First Baptist Church, Farmerville. Visitation will be Thursday, February 6, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and the funeral will be Friday, February 7 at 2:00 P.M. Kurt Auger will officiate the service assisted by Gary Canterberry.
