Ellie Bogard Topakoglu left a message on August 30, 2006:
Mrs. Porter was one of the kindest and sweetest people I have ever known. She worked for my dad in the College of Engineering. I worked for Dr. Reneau in the Biomedical Engineering Dept. while I was a student at Tech so I saw her quite often. She was always so cheerful, friendly and caring. May God bless her. Ellie Topakoglu
J. Todd Hannah left a message on August 28, 2006:
Mr. & Mrs. Porter were both so very kind to me while I was a student at Louisiana Tech 1991-1995. They were always a source of wisdom and strength, and the perfect model of a Christian couple. I remember fondly the after church dinners we had at their house. I love them both and will miss them dearly.
Peggy Grau left a message on August 28, 2006:
I am so sorry to hear about the death of your Mother. I was working in Dean Bogard's office temporarily when I met Mrs. Porter. I knew immediately that she was someone special. I fell in love with her kindness, quick wit, compassion, really everything about her. Truly a "Woman of Grace". What great memories I have of her. Please know that I feel a sense of loss in my heart also. What great memories the family must have of such a special Mother, Grandmother, and friend. Fondly, Peggy Grau
Mary Brent Bogard left a message on August 26, 2006:
I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Porter. My father was Ben T. Bogard, Dean of Engineering at Louisiana Tech and Mrs. Porter was his secretary when I was a child. I cannot remember any specific statements, but as children understand without words, I know that he had the highest regard for her. I do remember her smiling face and that she was always very kind to my brother, sisters, and me.

Patty and Brenda, I know your Mom is in a sweet, sweet place and doing much better than us. I always enjoyed dropoing by Bogard Hall to see your mom and think of all the great memories we had at the BSU. Alton Prewitt

Though I haven't seen Mrs. Porter in many, many years, I have fond memories of her when as a friend of Patty's I was invited to the Porter house or to the bakery. I remember she always made me feel special. Please accept my condolences.
