Carolyn George Cook was born on January 2, 1931, and entered into eternal rest on Christmas Eve, Sunday, December 24, 2023, from complications of a recent fall. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband William (Bill) Edward Cook; parents, Robert (Jack) Hardin George and Johnnie Tina Foster George; her sister, Asilee (Priss) George; her brother, Bobby Jack George; her sister Peggy Evelyn George Coffman; and, her brother, Franklin Foster George.
She is survived by her son James Edward Cook (wife: Connie); her daughter, Susan Carol Cook Moulard (husband: Charles); granddaughters, Carrie June Murphy Miller (husband: Clint) and Angela Elaine Murphy; great-grandsons, Austin William Murphy and Ethan Cole Miller; sisters, Carol June George McReynolds and Judy Kay George Emery; sister-in-law, Eddie Sue Cook Smith, and a host of extended family and friends.
She lived with her husband, Bill, for many years in Bernice, Louisiana, where they raised their children. Included, but not limited to, in her achievements were Supervisor at the Bernice Garment Factory, Engineer’s Assistant at the Bernice Garment Factory, Owner with her husband and Manager of the Sears Catalog Store in Bernice, Owner with her husband of an Independent Borden Distributorship, and Owner of Carolyn’s Flowers.
Mrs. Carolyn G. Cook was a member of the Bernice United Methodist Church and served her church family in many capacities; such as, Board Member, Sunday School Teacher, Bible School Superintendent, member of the United Methodist Women, Choir Member, and at times, guest writer/presenter of the Sunday Morning Sermon. She was also a member of the Bernice Eastern Star for many years and served in different capacities.
Carolyn will be interred in the Bernice Town Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston, Louisiana. The visitation hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 29, 2023, at the Bernice United Methodist Church. The Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Bernice United Methodist Church, led by Brother Johnie Adkins, Reverend of the Bernice United Methodist Church.
Pallbearers for Carolyn are Clint Miller, Austin Murphy, Ethan Miller, Rick Padgett, Jerry Miller, and Dallas Albritton.
She will be missed by all who knew her loving heart! She will forever rest in God’s loving arms!
