Carole Brent McNeilly, age 74, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital in Monroe, LA. Carole had recently returned to her hometown of Winnsboro, after living and raising her family in Denver, CO.She is survived by her three sons: Matt McNeilly (Beth), Jeff McNeilly (Cheri), and Scott McNeilly (Sonya), all living in Colorado. Carole has seven grandchildren: Aspen, Devon, Kasen, Teagen, Jordan, Tyler and Kaelyn; brother Jerry Brent of Winnsboro; and sister Joyce Sisk (Johnny) of Birmingham, AL.Carole was preceded in death by her husband Matthew S. McNeilly and her parents Odell and Dottie Brent.Carole was a very capable individual with an enthusiastic personality who moved to New Orleans to enter the working force immediately after graduating from Winnsboro High School in 1962. After success in several administrative positions, she retired to become a full-time mom to her boys. She lived in many parts of the U.S., from California to Maine and multiple points in between, but she always considered herself a southern girl and loved all that went with that designation.She was a lifelong Elvis fan, loved the Denver Broncos, and had Facebook friends all over the world. Nothing, however, meant more to her than her family.Carole was a free spirit that enjoyed life to the fullest and gave generously of herself to others. If you know her, you loved her.

Mama Mac was always everyone's"Mom" she rang cowbells at our games with support of her son's on the ballfields. She wasn't the type of momma that would back down from anyone as a matter of fact I recall a few times of when she was ready to give an arse whoopin to the referees or umpires. Even after all the years that passed she still reconnected with her "kids" and loved each one of us as her own along with keeping tabs on us. How y'all doin', what y'all up to, were continuous conversation as we grew into the adults we are today. She was a lighted spirit for us and you never wanted to cross her way because she would ring that glory bell before she began. Mrs. McNeillyMama Mac you will always be that one that loved and that one that kept us in line.Dance the night away with Matt. Carol was a wonderful lady. She was funny too and years ago when our boys, Jeff and Brian were young she and her husband Matt where very good to me and my family. We really did laugh a lot whenever Carol was around! Many fond memories. She will be missed.She and Matt raised wonderful son’s. May God Bless her family.
