Funeral services for Mrs. Carol Stuckey Coates, 65 of Eros, LA will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 3, 2010 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Officiating will be Bro. R. C. Smith and Bro. Elvin Wheelis. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery, Eros under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Carol Stuckey Coates was born September 11, 1945 to Bennie L. Stuckey and Maggie “Jiggs” Wheelis Stuckey and passed away October 31, 2010 after a courageous battle with a brain tumor. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dean Coates and a sister Glenda Caballero. Carol was a member of Chatham Baptist Church. She was a banker with Central Bank and then Iberia Bank for 29 years. She loved to meet and greet old and new customers and felt like they were her extended family. She is survived by a son, Greg Smith and wife Trish, daughters, Sherri Smith Henson, Nicole Smith Conville and husband Scott; grandsons, Chad Henson, Collin Smith and Brad Henson; step-daughters, Pam Chapman, Michelle Joiner and husband Mark; 3 step-grandsons and one step-granddaughter, Brandon Waggoner and wife Tara, Matthew Joiner, Michael Joiner and Jacie Chapman; brother, Jerry Stuckey and wife Sandra; brother-in-law, Joe Caballero; special niece, Lisa Caballero Walters and husband Chris; three nephews, Gary Stuckey, Mark Caballero and Joseph Stuckey; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Pallbearers will be Brent Barnett, Reggie Ball, DeWayne Latham, Chris Smith, Randy Wheelis, and David Fields. We would like to thank Jessica Lathan, Dr. Floyd Jones and staff, Dr Rolfe Morstead and staff, St. Francis Rehab, Dr. Russ Greer and staff, La Hospice, Dr. Jon Robertson of Memphis, TN and The Methodist University Hospital for mom's care. We would also like to thank Chatham Baptist Church for their generous gifts, cards and mostly prayers. Thanks also to the Orthopedic Clinic and Community Financial Insurance for allowing us to be with Mom when she needed us. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.

So sorry to hear about Carol. We went to school together at Eros. I have a lot of great memories of her. I know we will see her again someday. I look forward to that "Great Homecoming". Vickie Zeigler Warren

As customers of both Central and Iberia banks, we had known Carol for many years. We shared many conversations and many laughs. Carol really cared about people and it showed. We'll miss you Carol.

I√É¬≠ve told my mom, it doesn√É¬≠t matter what name is on a bank, it√É¬≠s the people who make the bank. Carol was, both in her professional & home life, the most caring person. She always went the extra mile for her family, friends, & her customers. Through all the buy outs, no matter what the bank name was, Carol took care of her customers. She also was taking care of her family a sick husband, taking grandkids to school, and going to their ballgames, cooking for all of her children√É¬≠s families. We spent many lunch hours visiting & talking about our families. Always wondering what the grandkids would grow up to be & how we could encourage them. I did not get to see Carol much after I was retired, but I know she would be so proud of how her family has taken care of her after her illness. I will continue to keep you all in my prayers. We were heartbroken to learn of Carol's death. I have not seen her since she left the Stella Mill branch but thought of her often. The bank was never the same after she left. She was a kind person who cared about her customers and went out of her way to help them. Our heartfelt condolences to her family. I know how much she will be missed. I worked with Carol for several years at both Central Bank and Iberia Bank. She was always very considerate to her coworkers and to her customers, and I am proud to have known her and to have worked with her. I was surprised and saddened to learn about her passing. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends as they go through this difficult time.

Jerry, I am sorry to learn of your sisters death. My wife Ginger knew Carol when she worked at Central Bank. Its been a very long time since I have seen you and Sandy. You and the family are in our prayers.

Carol was a great Lady,there was not anyone who would help you like she did,she was such a special person,who will be missed greately.

I had the great oppportunity to work with Ms Carol at IberiaBank. Ms Carol was a very kind and considerate person whom I will miss.

I was so blessed to work with Carol in banking and gleaned so much from her wisdom and practical life skills. I was blessed to call her friend. She will be greatly missed.

I had the opportunity to work alongside Carol for many years at the bank, and count it an honor to call her friend. She so often would put things in perspective for me and offer me the wisdom and knowledge that she had gained through the years. My prayers are with her family during this time.
