Funeral services for Mrs. Carol Stuckey Coates, 65 of Eros, LA will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 3, 2010 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Officiating will be Bro. R. C. Smith and Bro. Elvin Wheelis. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery, Eros under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Carol Stuckey Coates was born September 11, 1945 to Bennie L. Stuckey and Maggie “Jiggs” Wheelis Stuckey and passed away October 31, 2010 after a courageous battle with a brain tumor. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dean Coates and a sister Glenda Caballero. Carol was a member of Chatham Baptist Church. She was a banker with Central Bank and then Iberia Bank for 29 years. She loved to meet and greet old and new customers and felt like they were her extended family. She is survived by a son, Greg Smith and wife Trish, daughters, Sherri Smith Henson, Nicole Smith Conville and husband Scott; grandsons, Chad Henson, Collin Smith and Brad Henson; step-daughters, Pam Chapman, Michelle Joiner and husband Mark; 3 step-grandsons and one step-granddaughter, Brandon Waggoner and wife Tara, Matthew Joiner, Michael Joiner and Jacie Chapman; brother, Jerry Stuckey and wife Sandra; brother-in-law, Joe Caballero; special niece, Lisa Caballero Walters and husband Chris; three nephews, Gary Stuckey, Mark Caballero and Joseph Stuckey; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Pallbearers will be Brent Barnett, Reggie Ball, DeWayne Latham, Chris Smith, Randy Wheelis, and David Fields. We would like to thank Jessica Lathan, Dr. Floyd Jones and staff, Dr Rolfe Morstead and staff, St. Francis Rehab, Dr. Russ Greer and staff, La Hospice, Dr. Jon Robertson of Memphis, TN and The Methodist University Hospital for mom's care. We would also like to thank Chatham Baptist Church for their generous gifts, cards and mostly prayers. Thanks also to the Orthopedic Clinic and Community Financial Insurance for allowing us to be with Mom when she needed us. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
