I want to express my condolences to Dent and the family on the passing of Mr. Taylor.  It's been many, many years since I've seen them but I vividly remember the support and encouragement I received from Mr. Taylor when I played football at Farmerville High School.  He was a staunch supporter of the school and especially the kids who tried their best.  It wasn't important if you won or lost with him...what was most important was that you gave it your best in the effort.  His example has stuck with me for over 30 years and I appreciated him then...and now.  Our prayers are with the family.

Uncle Carl will always hold a special place in my heart.  After Papaw died, he became my surrogate grandfather and the only thing close to my grandfather Damon will ever remember.  I am thankful that for the time he was with us after Papaw's death that he was able to bring back the looks and sounds of my papaw.  They were two peas in a pod!I will be eternally grateful for the time that I was able to spend with him over the Christmas Holidays.  We laughed for a while about the differences in our football teams Arkansas vs LSU, me teasing him about the LSU loss the day after Thanksgiving and his yucky LSU hat that he was wearing.  I told him that I was going to buy him a Razorback hat and make him wear it!!!  I wish I had gotten the opportunity to get it to him.Aunt Ruby - you will be in my prayers...love you!AndreaPS - Damon sends his love.

So many good memories come to mind when I think about Carl Taylor.  Words can't express how special he was to me and to everyone he helped through the Northeast Louisiana Chapter of the American Red Cross.  As the "new" Emergency Services Director in 2000, Carl helped teach me how to respond to disasters, how important it was to help others in a time of need and especially, how important the ERV Emergency Response Vehicle is in Major Disasters across the country. He was always willing to go help someone in a time of need.  I haven't seen Carl in a while; however, I have not forgotten.  He always made me smile and will continue to do so in my memories of him.My prayers are with Ruby, who was usually right with him helping others, and the family.
