Mr. Carl A. Sims, age 62, of LaGrange, passed away on June 25, 2023. Mr. Sims was born on November 7, 1960 in El Paso, Texas and was raised in Calhoun, Louisiana, graduating from Calhoun High School. He was a wood-worker for most of his life, specializing in cabinet building. His parents, Robert Sims and Waltraud Sims preceded him in death as well as brothers, Robert Sims, Harry Sims, Dale Sims, a nephew, Jon Sims, and his best friend, Lamar Yeager.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Eaton Sims; children, Katie “Ouida” Brackett, Bobby Sims (Leola), Bryan Griffin (Bette) and Michael Griffin; stepson, Chad Vermillion (Jeanna); sister, Susan Cole (Lamar); grandchildren, Lane Griffin, Mackenzie Griffin, Carson Griffin, Hayden Griffin, Jackson Brackett, Kadence Griffin, Sloane Sims, Ava Griffin, Remi Sims, Casey Vermillion, Kellen Vermillion, and Kendall Vermillion; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Services for Mr. Sims will be held at 7:00 P.M., Thursday, August 31, 2023 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe. Family will receive friends beginning at 6:00 pm until service hour.
