Captain D. Thomas Sr.BritchesBritches was born on May 16, 1944 to the late Captain Milbourne Thomas and Elizabeth Gardner Hill. He died on July 30, 2014 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe after a brief illness.A native of Union Parish, Britches served in the United States Air Force. He owned several restaurants in Farmerville over the years. He has owned D’Arbonne Saw for many years where he has enjoyed serving his friends and customers over the years.He is survived by his precious wife, Connie Thomas, 3 children, Junior Thomas of Marion, Teresa Stewart (Glen) of Farmerville, and Becky Thomas of Valdosta, GA., 1 sister Gladys Platt of Farmerville. He has 5 grandchildren, Adam Thomas of West Monroe, Amber Thomas of Marion, Philip and Haley Lovell of Valdosta, GA, and Ethan Hickert of Marion. He is survived by a special step-daughter, Jeannie Hickert as well as his father-in-law, Vernon Johnson. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his brothers, Allen Glen Thomas, Harvey Thomas, and Curtis Thomas as well as his parents.The service is under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, August 1s t at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville. Services will be held Saturday August 2nd at 11:00 A.M. at Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Marion with graveside services immediately following at Liberty Hill Baptist Cemetery. Brother Paul King will be officiating.Serving as pallbearers will be Adam Thomas, Douglas Platt, Glen Stewart, Courtney Humble, Aaron Humble, and Jamie Thomas.
