Funeral services for Bruce Rushing, 50, of Downsville, LA will be held at 2:30 Sunday June 4, 2006 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA with Rev. Jimmy Eppinette officiating. Interment will be at Longstraw Cemetery, Choudrant, LA, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA. Bruce was born August 26, 1955 in Monroe, LA and passed away June 1, 2006 in Downsville, LA. Bruce had worked many years in the roofing business and was also a poultry farmer. Bruce may most be remembered as being very active in raising and showing cutting horse. He was a member of N.C.H.A., A.Q.H.A., N.E.L.C.H.A. AND River City Cutting Horse Association. Mr. Rushing is survived by his wife, Cheryl Rushing, 2 sons, Ethan Rushing and Ray Rushing and wife Libby; 3 step-sons, Wayne and wife Tammy, Michael and wife Rhonda and Shane and wife Charm; mother, Laverne Rushing, 1 brother: Troy Rushing and wife Linda, 2 sisters, Carol Rushing, and Mary Lynn Humphries and husband George, 7 grandchildren, Ashley, Ambher, Lindsey, Breanna, Caige, Kirstin and Heather; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Greg Garland, Tommy Smith, Steven Poe, Troy Bailey, Al Malone, Tim Crocker, Paul Wilhite and Mickey Lofton. Honorary Pallbearer will be Johnny Dodson. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Bruce was known for his easy going personality and willingness to help a friend of which he had many. Cheryl wishes to thank the many friends, churches and riding clubs that have been so helpful in this difficult time.
