A celebration of life and legacy for Bobby Wayne Boyter, 65, of West Monroe will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 15, 2019 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe. Rev. Larry Linson will officiate and interment will follow at Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens.Bobby was born October 27, 1953 in Shreveport and passed away after a lengthy illness on October 12, 2019 in Monroe. He was a retired Monroe Police Captain, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, member of Municipal Police Officer Association and Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He loved life itself, along with God, his country, family and friends. Bobby made wonderful memories for all who knew him. Every weekend was spent with family and friends; which made him very happy. Much time was spent on the bayou at the camp entertaining or enjoying quiet time with family. Camping and traveling in the RV was also a favorite pastime. One of his favorite places to go was Talladega Super Speedway with Matthew. Bobby loved projects such as planning get togethers, building things or fixing up something. He was very meticulous and did wonderful work. Bobby enjoyed the weekly meeting with the Monroe Police Department Retiree Coffee Club.Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Claude and Lorene Cook Boyter; brother, Larry Boyter.Bobby is survived by his wife, Debbie Price Boyter; daughter, Amie Bowen Myers and husband, Phillip; son, Matthew Blake Boyter and wife, Lauren; three grandchildren, Benjamin Kade Bowen, Ty Garrett Bowen and Bennet Matthew Boyter; sister, Sandra Higgenbotham; many other cherished family and friends.Pallbearers will be Ronnie Martin, Dale Martin, Mac Anderson, Rick Jones, Frank Nettles, and Matthew Murphy. Honorary pallbearers will be Karen Hillhouse, John Hamilton, Drew McDonald and Joel Boyter.Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Monday, October 14, 2019 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.
