Bobby Ray Moore
Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Ray Moore, 80, of Bernice, La., will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020, at Evergreen Baptist Church in Bernice, La. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Wayne Sistrunk. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be held in Evergreen Cemetery in Bernice, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville.
Bobby Ray Moore was born to G.W. “Wash” and Narrie Barham Moore on July 22, 1939, an only child, and went to heaven on February 25, 2020.
He went to Bernice High School, and joined the Navy as soon as possible. He retired after 21 years of service serving his country in 39 countries and 5 states. After retirement he became a cross country truck driver for another 14 years. He was military minded always. He was the commander of American Legion Post 149 in Farmerville, LA for 12 Years. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 5442 in Farmerville, LA and a member of the Fleet Reserve in Monroe, LA. He was the chaplain for the Allen M. Summer ship reunion Association for many years.
He is a member of Evergreen Baptist Church in Bernice, LA., and was the Sunday School Director and sound system operator for many years. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 61 years Mary Fuller Landers Moore; 3 children: Maxine Stewart and husband, Tim of Bernice, LA; George D. Moore and wife Cindy of Lufkin, TX; Jeffery L. Moore of Bernice, LA and 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind dear friends in every state in the union.
